We are an Active School
Presentation Senior School has always been a very active school. Throughout the year all classes get the
opportunity to take part in an array of sports and activities including football, hurling, basketball, dance,
drama, soccer, rugby, swimming, tennis, cricket and cycling. In pursuit of the Active Schools Flag, there
will be many more fun activities organized for the rest of the year. Watch this space..

Active Schools Committee
Presentation Senior has recently begun the process towards achieving
an Active School Flag. The initiative is focused on providing inclusive physical activity opportunities for
all members of our school community with an emphasis on fun. Our first Active Schools Committee has
been appointed and they are eager to get started. Here they are getting into the Halloween spirit.

Room 14 Getting Up and Active Every Morning
Our ASD unit and their teacher Ms Kelly start every morning with some exercise.
Playground Leaders at Work
Our playground leaders do a wonderful job in organising playground games, encouraging children to ‘do their talking while they’re walking’ and generally making break times more fun!
Anyone For Tennis?
We take part in a wide range of sports in Presentation Senior and we are lucky to be so close to Mullingar Tennis Club.
Tour of Europe Running Challenge
Well done to everyone who took part in the 20 day running challenge as part of our Active Schools Flag initiative.
The challenge was a great success, hopefully you all had fun and felt the many benefits of running every day.
Altogether the whole school ran a total of 3,668 kilometers which is the equivalent of running from Mullingar to Valetta in Malta!
The top 5 classes who ran the furthest distances are:
Room 3 with 343 kms
Room 6 with 380 kms
Room 8 with 400 kms
Room 12 with 428 kms
And Room 11 with a massive 483 kms!
Again well done to everyone, this was a fantastic achievement and a great introduction to running for fun.

Active Schools Slogan Competition
There were some fantastic entries to the Active School Slogan competition. Some great artwork and very imaginative slogans. After much deliberation by the Active Schools Committee the winner was eventually decided. Well done to Lolade from Room 8 for her entry below. You’ll agree it’s catchy and really well designed and drawn. A perfect slogan and poster for our School.

Our Achievement Wall
In Presentation Senior we celebrate our achievements inside and out of school. We may need a bigger wall…
We take part in a range of sports and activities including soccer, Gaelic football and hurling, rugby, dance, tennis, horse riding, boxing, Irish dancing and much much more….
Active Lines
Our Active Lines are a great way of keeping active and getting motivated for a day of school. Ms Dorr certainly puts 4th class through their paces
