Physical Education

All children in Presentation Senior School receive at least one hour of P.E. a week. The P.E. lessons are planned by the teachers of the school using the P.S.S.I lesson plans. Each child gets the opportunity to explore five of the P.E. strands during each academic year. These are: Athletics, Games, Outdoor and Adventure Activities, Swimming and Dance.  We are also very lucky to have close ties with Mullingar Shamorcks GFC and Mullingar Rugby Club who both provide training in both sports for all classes.
Although we already partake in lots of games in P.E. in Presentation Senior, we chose Games as our strand of focus for this year with particular emphasis on bringing new games to the school. This year we audited and updated the PE equipment in the school with a view to bringing more games to the school. We took delivery of badminton and volleyball equipment, a badminton net, new unihoc equipment, futsol balls, tag rugby equipment, new basketballs, beanbags and multiballs and a new basketball hoop.

Water Safety at Presentation Senior

Water safety education is provided to the children of Presentation Senior on an annual basis. It is something that is taken very seriously, especially coming up to the summer months when children will be visiting various seas, lakes and pools. The Land PAWS Water Safety Programme will also be carried out with children in Term 3 to refresh their water safety knowledge

Making The Most of Our Environment

We are very lucky in Presentation Senior to be so close to the canal and classes frequently take walks along the canal. This was an excellent activity during our active breaks

challenge.

As part of our PE programme, all classes in Presentation Senior receive lessons in Tennis, Swimming, Rugby and Gaelic football every year.
