This post is a copy of an email sent to parents/guardians on Friday 27th September.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Parent/Guardian Information Meetings

I wish to very sincerely thank all of the parents/guardians who attended the parent information meetings in our school during the week. A copy of the information letter distributed at the meetings is attached to this email for those who were unable to attend.

Parents’ Association

Mrs. Beddows (principal of Presentation Junior School) and I are hoping to establish a single Parents’ Association for the two schools. Parents/guardians of children in the Senior School who would like to assist with the process of establishing this new Parents’ Association are invited to a meeting in the school on Monday next, 30th September, at 1:30pm.

Defibrillator

The Parents Association of the Junior School collected enough used mobile phones to secure a defibrillator for the Presentation Schools through the Phones for Life scheme. The defibrillator will be located in the Junior School assembly hall and shared by the two schools. We are extremely grateful to the Junior School Parents’ Association for including us in this project.

Spanish Classes

If there is enough interest from children and their parents/guardians, we would like to run Spanish classes as a paid after school activity. The classes would cost €40 per child for a term of 10 classes. If you are interested in these classes for your child, please complete the Expression of Interest form on the school website.

Pupil Personal Accident Insurance

I wish to remind parents that payments for the Pupil Personal Accident Insurance Scheme cannot be taken after Monday next 30th October. Parents/guardians who wish to purchase this insurance are advised to complete the attached form and send it to the school office with the appropriate fee on Monday morning.

ICT Club

I am very grateful to the sixty-eight children who submitted excellent applications for the ICT club. Due to the demand, I have decided to run six week courses on Wednesday evenings as well as the classes on Thursday evenings. Fourth class children who applied for places and who are not attending the classes on Thursday evenings are welcome to attend the classes in Room 1 on Wednesday evenings from 2:30pm to 3:45pm for the next six weeks. The classes will begin on Wednesday next 2nd October.

Yours faithfully

M. Tunney
