On Wednesday the 15th of May we held a WOW day – a walk to school Wednesday Day .
This was part of National Walk To School Week co-ordinatted by An Taisce and the County Council. We all collected at 8:30 am at Pennys car park.
Luckily it was not raining and the heavy showers fell later in the day.
By 8 :45 am a good crowd had collected. It was great to see so many families and pupils from the Junior School too.
The Boys school were walking from Pennys as well so there was a big long line of us setting off at 8;45am
Many had high -vis vests and reflector armbands.
The Gardaí were very good to provide us with a safe escort the whole way to each school. It was great fun and a nice way to start the day.
Well done and thank you to everyone who joined in WOW Day
. Thank you to those who cycled too. Remember that ‘Little Steps Make A Big Difference
Our survey of the classes showed that over 60 children walked on Wednesday
the 15th of May who do not usually walk to school. GREAT !
