About Us

Our School

Presentation Senior School, also known by its Irish name Scoil na Maighdine Muire, is a senior co-educational Catholic school catering for pupils from third to sixth class. The school also has an autism unit catering for children between the ages of four and twelve years. The school was built by the Presentation Order in 1957. The Board of Management and staff remain strongly committed to the Presentation ethos and values inherited from the Sisters who taught in our school

Facilities

A friendly, enthusiastic and talented staff who keep abreast of all the educational developments and are dedicated to the total development and care of all the pupils. Well-equipped classrooms Interactive whiteboards in all classrooms. A large range of educational software. Two Astroturf playgrounds with markings for basketball and football games. Large Concert Hall with a stage. A wide range of P.E. equipment. Our school is within walking distance from all the local facilities – Library, Arts Centre, Swimming Pool, Tennis Club, Cathedral, Columb Barracks, Fire Station, Garda Station and the Royal Cana.

Parents Association

The Parent Association works with the Principal, staff and the Board of Management to build effective partnership between home and schoo

The Parent Association can advise the Principal and Board of Management on policy issues and incidents that may require a review of school policy, e.g. Bullying, Safety, Homework, Enrolment, Behaviour problems etc

The Parent Association can suggest and/or organise extra-curricular activities.

The Parent Association is a support for parents in the school.

The Parent Association can invite speakers to address the parents on issues which are topical or relevant.

The Parent Association is not a forum for complaint against either an individual teacher or parent. The Complaints’ Procedure is the mechanism for this.

The Parent Association helps to promote the school community by celebrating special occasions e.g.Confirmation, Grandparents’ Day etc.

The Parent Association organises events to raise much needed funds required to enhance the children’s school experience.

Uniform

Presentation Senior School Dress-code Pupils are asked to wear the complete uniform daily.

All uniforms must be neat, clean and in good condition. Hair must be neat, clean and well groomed. If hair is long it must be tied back neatly. Make-up and unnatural hair colouring is not allowed. The school Tracksuit and runners may be worn on P.E. activity days only. Children should attach name-tags/labels to all items of clothing and other personal belongings. The school reserves the right to decide what is becoming in dress and appearance for students enrolled. The highest standard of personal appearance is expected at all times.
